Engadget Logo Engadget Japan version does not include tax 5400 yen wireless headset Beats Flex domestic sale of BeatsX is cheaper
Apple's Beats has launched the tie-type wireless headset "Beats Flex". The price is 5400 yen (excluding tax, the same below).
The main feature of the Beats Flex is that it is equipped with a W1 chip, which can be connected only by being close to iPhone or iPad, and the price is lower than that of BeatsX (14,800 yen). We have also improved the structure and function related to sound quality.
In terms of sound quality, the driver of multi-layer structure and the sound structure of double studio are adopted to achieve thick and dense bass output. It also provides a tiny vent cut with a laser to remove pressure from the ear.
Parts inherited from BeatsX include W1 chips and Class 1 Bluetooth and audio sharing capabilities that use wider communication distances.
Using the audio sharing feature, you can share music played by Apple products through Beats Flex and "AirPods" or "Beats headphones" that support audio sharing.
The charging terminal changes from Lightning terminal (BeatsX) to USB Type-C terminal (Beats Flex). Battery power up to 12 hours, using the included USB-C cable, only 10 minutes to charge, 1.5 hours of playback.
There are 4 colors. Available in Beats black, grapefruit yellow, smoky gray and fire blue. Among them, Beats black and grapefruit yellow will go on sale in Apple's online store on Oct. 21. Smoky gray and fire blue are expected to be available in early 2021.
