Appleが20インチ程度の折りたたみ式タッチスクリーンを持つ製品を開発している、との情報は、ディスプレイ業界の動向に詳しいDisplay Supply Chain Consultants（DSCC）のロス・ヤング氏が予測を発表したほか、Bloombergのマーク・ガーマン記者が「MacとiPadを掛け合わせたような製品」と伝えて話題となっています。これまでの情報を踏まえてデザイナーのアントニオ・デ・ロサ氏が、「MacBook Folio」と名付けたデバイスのイメージ画像と動画を公開しています。

「MacBook Folio」は、折りたたんだ状態だとMacBookのように見えます。側面は現在のiPhoneやiPad、MacBook Proに通じる、直線を活かしたシャープな造形です。開くと、キーボードとトラックパッドが姿を現しますが、一見するとMacBookのように見えます。キーボードはスクリーンに表示されたバーチャルなもので、表面はフラットです。タッチスクリーン式のバーチャルキーボードは、使用するアプリに応じて鍵盤を表示することもできます。写真加工や動画編集アプリの使用時には、巨大化したTouch Barのように使えます。
