This is easy to play!
Recently, the number of photos of instant cameras has increased again. There are various cameras, such as chehi, revived Polaroid, which has opened the market, and among them, it is easy to use, which is a good shot, and what is fun, and many of the reporters of Gizmodo's Adam Clark Estes are compared.Below, please!
Instant cameras seemed to die in the 2000s in the 2000s in the 2000s, with the spread of digital cameras, the smartphone era. However, the instant camera has evolved, with a high -tech model equipped with Bluetooth, and the price is more affordable than before. It's difficult to take a perfect photo, but it's one of the fun.
Polaroid for a long time has been synonymous with instant cameras, but Polaroid has been revived from another company about two years ago after being forced to discontinue production in 2008.Meanwhile, in the meantime, a new instant camera group that uses Fujifilm's instant cameras, Film Formats such as Instax mini, Instax Square, and that format.
So, in this article, I will select and compare the popular camera in each film format. There are five lineups:
・ POLAROID ORIGINALS ONESTEP + ($ 160, Japan price 22,680 yen)
・ Leica Sofort ($ 280, Japan Price 36,180 yen)
・ Romography Instant Automat Glass ($ 190, Japan Price including tax)
・ Lomo'instant Square Glass ($ 200, Japan Price 21,980 yen)
・ Fujifilm INSTAX SQUARE SQ6 ($ 130, Japanese price around 13,000 yen)
The film format and price range are slightly different, but all cameras are functionally similar. So, in this article, we will compare each camera in three categories, a design that includes operability, an indoor photo, and an outdoor photo, and finally consider which one is better.
Unlike ordinary digital cameras, instant cameras may become fashion accessories. No matter how cute a camera is, if you can't take a picture, it's the same as hanging a paperweight from your neck. So, the "design" here is not the way the color of the housing is, but the focus on whether it is easy to use.In other words, whether you can turn it on when you want to shoot, whether the shutter is easy to push, or whether it is easy to adjust the settings to achieve the image you want to shoot. In the first place, it is also a point to be able to make such adjustments.
Some instant cameras can be bought at the select shop's miscellaneous goods corner for thousands of yen, but in this article, I chose a slightly higher one. This is because there are various parts where you can play as much as the price. For example, Polaroid Originals OneStep+allows you to set up shooting and select filters from smartphone apps via Bluetooth.Leica's Sofort has a convenient LCD screen, so you can choose a shooting mode, timer, and flash options.Fujifilm's Instax Square SQ6 also has a similar mode, but the lights that are selected which mode are selected is simple and easy to understand, so it seems that this simple is rather good.Instax Square SQ6 was the easiest to turn on, and I was able to start shooting off from a state.
Conversely, the Lomo'instant series of Romography was difficult to launch. The appearance is definitely intriguing, but the operability is not intuitive. For example, it is necessary to open a folded lens sideways first and bring it to the front, but I did not understand the way at a glance.LOMO'instant Automat Glass was also difficult to understand the operation of the on -off, and it felt like various operations were hidden in the ring around the lens.In fact, I felt that Romography cameras were sacrificing ease of use in exchange for looks. The Polaroid Originals OneStep+ was also difficult to understand, and it didn't feel like it was fun to shoot or easy.
That's why the design department was a close battle between Leica and Fujifilm. But Leica is certainly cool, but the ease of use of Fujifilm was hard to abandon, and it was equivalent to a functionally expensive Leica. So ...
Design section: Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 wins!
Next to the design, we will compare photos that can be actually taken.First of all, it is an outdoor photo, but the main part of the instant camera is indoor parties, and there may not be many images used outdoors. However, if the shooting conditions are good, you can take some interesting photos with the scenery of the city, nature, and this kind of camera.
However, in this review, "cold" was a problem. We were taking pictures while walking around the downtown Winter Manhattan in sightseeing (although it was fun), and one day we noticed the restrictions on instant cameras.Polaroid Originals film is sensitive to temperature, so most of the photos I took outdoors were not appearing on the film.So Polaroid dropped out of this battle early. On the other hand, Instax film tended to bleed the color, both mini and Square, and if they were not developed to some extent and put them in their pockets. It was quite good to look at it as an effect.
Regarding the photos I took properly, there was a big difference between the Romography camera, Leica, and Fujifilm. The photo that can be taken with Romography is a slightly unique impression that the color palette is slightly different and that the binet effect (the border is darker) is included. It may be good for those who like it, as if the Instagram filter is being filtered in a real photo, and it may be a reputation for those who do not.
Again, Leica and Fujifilm had a sense of stability, and it was highly evaluated among us.Even though the lighting was light and dark, there was almost no need to rely on the finish of the photo. It was easy to set it, so it was easy to adjust the focus.
But in the end, Leica was clearly out of the cheap Fujifilm. The film used in the soft is Instax mini size, so it is smaller than Instax Square SQ6, but the finish was sharper and exposed. There are small Instax mini, large square Instax Square, and different formats, but it may not be decided, but in the sense of the vest of outdoor photos, I would like to raise Leica to Leica.
Outdoor photo sector: Leica Sofort wins!
The last comparison is indoors. It was clear which camera could be taken well in an environment where lighting was good and easy to shoot. After all, if the conditions are good, it would be either a camera or a photographer to lose the photo, but this time there were both cases.
First of all, I was disappointed by Polaroid Originals.I couldn't control the focus, I couldn't read how the film responded, and I was able to take a lot of bad photos. The Polaroid Originals i-type film is $ 2 per sheet (about 300 yen for Japanese price), which is the most expensive this time. And it is 10 to 15 minutes from taking a picture to the completion of the development, and the time after taking it is the longest.Fujifilm's Instax mini film is 60 cents per piece (about 60 yen for Japanese price), and Instax Square is about $ 1 (about 100 yen for Japanese price). So, if you take a picture with Polaroid Originals, you will not only be a failure itself, but also a wasteful film fee is quite shocking.
Romography cameras have the same features such as color and vineette effects that appeared in outdoor photos, but the indoors seemed much better. However, thanks to the design and operability as I wrote above, it is very difficult to determine the focus and composition. The quality of the photo varied and sad, and the Romography camera dropped out.
As a result, the last remaining was Leica Sofort and Fujifilm's Instax Square SQ6, as in the previous two categories. In this indoor photo section, the ease of focus was very important because I did not shoot endlessly like when I reviewed it outdoors.Leica is more sophisticated, and you can switch the standard, close -up and distant view by turning the ring attached to the lens.Focus options are two choices, but there are six patterns in the picture mode, and you can take various ways to shoot more by combining them. There are so many options and it's hard to see at first glance, but it was convenient to get used to it, and the finish of the photos was very good.
Fujifilm was still easy to use, and he made good exposure photos. There are six shooting modes that can be selected here, but there is another automatic mode, and just pressing it will make the camera better. That was not always the case, but I wasn't disappointed by Fujifilm anyway. Not only the photos were beautiful, but the evaluation was easy to take.so…,
Indoor photo category: Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 wins!
I thought this article was more of a person who did not put it into an instant camera. If you are an instant camera mania, you may be interested in Mint Instant Flex, which costs $ 400, or vintage products buried in auctions. As for this article, I wanted to find the best instant camera for more people than those people. For example, you may want to upgrade from a cheap camera you bought at a select shop, or you have a Polaroid in the past, but you may want to buy an instant camera after a long absence. And the tallest is not always the best.
In that sense, in terms of the results of the above three divisions, the overall top is Fujifilm's Instax Square SQ6.In terms of price, it was the cheapest in this comparison, but two of the three divisions in this article were winners. The film used for it is a slightly smaller poral ratio of Polaroid, but the portrait ratio in the photo is the same square Instax Square. If you like the Instax mini film and want to get a little bit, you may consider Leica Softt. It was only $ 280 (Japan price 36,180 yen including tax), so it was fun to use it.
But really, affordable Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 is worth considering. No matter which camera you buy, you will get a separate film fee.
Overall top: Fujifilm's Instax Square SQ6!
