A scene from the manga "Smartphone Generation". When I was thinking, "What is the child of today?"

Manga artist Inakuho, who continues to draw on the theme of "not a special day", has drawn about the "smartphone generation". I asked her what she thought of her work. Synopsis of the manga

Even though he came all the way to the summer festival, the boy is only looking at his smartphone. He doesn't let go of his smartphone when he's yo-yo fishing or drawing lots. "I'm so obsessed with my smartphone, I'm a child these days..." I thought, but a big firework went off in front of me. A boy pointing his smartphone camera at the fireworks. On the screen, you can see your little sister and her mother who are answering at home. For the sake of my sick sister, I was watching the summer festival all the time through a video call on my smartphone.

Message from the author, Ho Inazura

When I drew this work in 2019, my family was working abroad alone, and I was looking forward to video calls once a week. . I remember how much fun it was to see the room I lived in, what I was eating, and what I bought in a foreign land. (Although I was worried about the rain leaking during the squall) A lot of people have read it since it was announced, and it is a very memorable work, but now that remote calls have become mainstream due to the corona crisis, I am rereading it. And I feel that nothing beats the joy of being able to do something together directly. I strongly hope that the day will come soon when you will read this work and say, "There was another way to do this." ◇ A manga artist from Shizuoka Prefecture.
